Introduction of the ILM-Deletion-Matrix Tool that can be used to identify GDPR critical data related to SAP ILM

SAP Information Lifecycle Management, in short ILM, helps organizations to manage their data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It does this by controlling how long data is stored and ensuring its secure deletion.

ILM enables automated archiving, retention management, and the blocking of personal data. It also supports GDPR rights like data access and deletion, helping businesses stay compliant while reducing risk.

With our ILM-Deletion-Matrix, you will receive an overview of your GDPR-relevant infotypes and tables, along with their ILM objects and retention periods by employee status. This helps ensure compliant data handling and supports GDPR audits and governance.

As always, we have updated all Testcases to check for the latest releases of components, kernels, and security patches for all available target types.

Across all target types we added and updated our value lists for critical reports and transactions.

SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP

Many SAP systems are currently in the process of migrating to the cloud. What is often overlooked is that SAP requires certain settings in the cloud, which might alter the system’s behavior. These settings can be quickly verified using our “Secure by Default” or “SAP ECS Hardening for SAP RISE” scenarios. The scenario “SAP ECS Hardening for SAP RISE” is a new addition and checks the system against the mandatory security parameters and hardening requirements in SAP Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS).

Regarding Testcases, 2 new additions and 8 improvements have been made for the following areas: GDPR violations, gateway security, and logging and monitoring.

SAP Cloud Connector

For this target type, 5 Testcases for the user management and the trust management have been improved.

SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)

7 Testcases were improved for the SAP BTP across the categories critical services, and roles and authorizations.

We will update you on our new platform features regularly here in this blog – stay tuned and give us a follow on LinkedIn to not miss any further updates!
