New features & improvements
Main features
Out-of-the-box Scalability
In this release, we have adapted the installation process and added out-of-the-box scalability to our security platform. This allows services to be added or removed by simply changing the configuration. The new services are automatically deployed and ready to use.
Introduction of “Common Views”
Several Testcases use similar datasources and have a similar data aggregation logic. To avoid aggregating this data over and over again, we have added so-called “Common Views” to the SSP. A Common View aggregates all necessary datasources and performs some initial aggregation logic. This has allowed us to dramatically improve the performance of the SSP and reduce its RAM usage. An additional benefit is the ease of maintenance for these Testcases, as a change in the data aggregation logic only needs to be done in the Common View and not in each individual Testcase.
Content
As always, we have updated all Testcases to check for the latest releases of components, kernels, and security patches for all available target types.
SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP
For this target type, 31 Testcases were improved in terms of their policies and documentation. The main change was the use of the newly introduced Common Views. This led to a significant performance increase in the categories: User Accounts, Table Authorizations, Authorization Objects, Roles, and Profiles. Several improvements were implemented in the area of: Security Audit Logging and Configurations, Table Logging, Critical Report Logging, ICM Security and Logging, Permission ACL – Tables, RFC Security and Password Policies.
